💍 Weddings in Tulum

Tulum has become the favorite destination for couples seeking a wedding with bohemian style, natural beauty, and soul. Unlike Cancun's large resorts, Tulum offers ecological boutique hotels, ceremonies in sacred cenotes, and receptions under the stars in the Mayan jungle. The archaeological ruins on the cliff, crystal-clear cenotes, and pristine beaches create a magical atmosphere found nowhere else in the world.

📋 Wedding planning guide

1. Natural bohemian style

Tulum is synonymous with boho-chic style. Take advantage of local natural materials: wood, stone, macrame, wildflowers, and sustainable decor that harmonizes with the environment.

2. Legal requirements

The process is done at the Tulum Municipal Civil Registry. Standard Quintana Roo requirements: apostilled certificates, blood tests, witnesses, and IDs.

3. Mosquitoes and climate

Tulum has many mosquitoes, especially in the jungle and at dusk. Provide natural repellent to your guests and consider eco-friendly fumigation of the ceremony area.

4. Access and transport

The nearest airport is Cancun (CUN), 2 hours away. Tulum's new airport (TQO) also receives flights. Coordinate group transportation for guests.

5. Boutique hotels vs resorts

Tulum doesn't have large all-inclusive resorts. Hotels are boutique and eco-friendly with limited capacity. Book well in advance and consider renting an entire hotel.

6. Cenote weddings

Cenote weddings require special permits and have limited capacity (usually 30-60 people). Book at least 8 months in advance.

📜 Legal requirements

Civil marriage at the Tulum Civil Registry, Quintana Roo. Requirements: apostilled birth certificates, official IDs, blood tests (no older than 15 days), four witnesses with ID. Foreigners need a passport, immigration form, and official document translation. Process takes 3-5 business days.
