Apercu general

Baja California Sur is where the desert meets the sea. The state occupies the southern half of the Baja California peninsula, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Sea of Cortez (the 'Aquarium of the World' according to Jacques Cousteau) to the east. Los Cabos, at the southern tip, is one of Mexico's most luxurious beach destinations, famous for the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas. La Paz, the capital, is a hidden gem with crystalline beaches like Balandra and incredible marine life. The state offers gray whale watching in winter (Guerrero Negro, San Ignacio Lagoon), diving with sea lions at Espiritu Santo, surfing in Todos Santos (Pueblo Magico), and cave paintings in the Sierra de San Francisco. The gastronomy centers on ultra-fresh seafood: fish tacos, chocolate clams, lobster, and scallops. BCS is for travelers seeking nature, adventure, and luxury in a spectacular desert setting.

🌤️ Meilleur moment pour visiter

October to May is the best season with dry, mild weather (22-30°C / 72-86°F). January to March is gray whale watching season. Summer (June-September) is extremely hot (40°C+ / 104°F+) and is hurricane season. La Paz is pleasant from October to June.

Los Cabos is very safe in tourist areas. Take normal precautions with belongings on busy beaches like Medano

⚠️

Many BCS beaches have strong currents and dangerous waves. Lover's Beach is only accessible by boat. Respect flags and warning signs

The desert sun is extreme. Stay constantly hydrated, use SPF 50+ sunscreen, and cover your head. Summer temperatures exceed 40°C (104°F)

⚠️

If driving the trans-peninsular highway, fill your tank at every gas station. Distances between towns are large and cell signal isn't always available
