Step away from the Hotel Zone and discover the real Cancun. Start at Parque de las Palapas, the city's heart where locals gather in the evenings. Walk through Market 28 for crafts and local food, then explore Market 23 for tacos and fresh juices. End on Avenida Tulum with its murals and cafes.
Fifth Avenue, Playa del Carmen

Fifth Avenue is the Riviera Maya's most famous pedestrian avenue. Walk it from the ferry pier to 40th Street. You'll find restaurants, bars, Mexican designer shops, and art galleries. Detour through side streets to discover hidden cafes and urban cenotes like Cenote Azul.
Tulum Ruins and beach

Arrive early (8 am) to avoid crowds. Walk through the Mayan ruins overlooking the Caribbean: El Castillo, the Temple of the Descending God, and the walls. Then walk down the stairs to the beach for a swim in turquoise waters. The walk includes the archaeological zone and the paradise beach below. Entry: $90 MXN ($5 USD).
