🚗 How to get to the stadium

Estadio BBVA is located in the municipality of Guadalupe, about 20 minutes from downtown Monterrey. You can take the Metro to Exposición station and then use the official FIFA shuttles that will operate on match days. Uber and DiDi cost between $200 and $350 MXN from downtown Monterrey. Parking will also be available at nearby shopping malls with shuttle service to the stadium. Plan your arrival ahead of time as roads get very congested on match days.

🏨 Where to stay

The best areas to stay are: Barrio Antiguo downtown (20 min to the stadium, nightlife and traditional restaurants), San Pedro Garza García (25 min, luxury area with premium hotels and gourmet restaurants), and Valle Oriente (15 min, business district with modern hotels). Hotel prices will increase considerably during the World Cup, so book as far in advance as possible.

💡 Match day tips

1. Extreme heat

June in Monterrey reaches temperatures of 35-40°C (95-104°F) with high humidity. It is ESSENTIAL to bring high-SPF sunscreen, a cap or hat, and a reusable water bottle. Constant hydration is vital. Consider buying a portable fan or wet towels to cool down.

2. No shade in many sections

Many sections of Estadio BBVA have no roof or shade. If you have the option, choose seats in covered areas or on the shaded west side of the stadium for afternoon matches. Bring sunglasses and neck protection.

3. Transportation and surge pricing

On match days, Uber and DiDi will have very high surge pricing. Book your ride in advance or use the Metro to Exposición station and the official FIFA shuttles. If driving, arrive very early to secure parking at nearby shopping malls.

4. Spectacular views

Estadio BBVA offers stunning views of Cerro de la Silla and the Sierra Madre mountains. Bring your camera or charged phone to capture amazing photos, especially at sunset when the light is perfect on the mountains.

5. Local cuisine

Don't miss Monterrey's cuisine before or after the match: cabrito al pastor (signature dish), machaca con huevo, northern-style carne asada, and the famous flour tortillas. The Barrio Antiguo and San Pedro areas have the best restaurants.
